Question 1: What is CharFlo-Cell? Is it a Cell library?
Answer:
CharFlo-Cell! is not a cell library. It is a tool set for automatic standard cells and IOs verification and characterization.

Question 2: What are the inputs to the tools?
Answer:
CharFlo-Cell! requires synopsys liberty files, an extracted netlist, and process spice models.

Question 3: I already have the timing model from the library vendor, why should I need to recharacterize the cell?
Answer:
By using CharFlo-Cell!, you will get the exact timing model of the Cell or IO that you will be using. You can also change the timing arc, or corners, that you want and recharacterize it.

Question 4: What are the differences of CharFlo-Cells! and others?
Answer:
CharFlo-Cells! looks into the internal nodes of the cells, using Legend's patented SpiceCut technology. CharFlo-Cells! use 'Multi-Goals' characterization techniques to check for any embedded glitches, meta-stability or signal shiftings to ensure the reliability and integrity of the characterized data.

Question 5: What is the Model Diagnoser in CharFlo-Cells! ?
Answer:
It helps to check your .lib file's timing for:
a) which cell has signal integrity issues
b) which cell has functional failure

Question 6: Does the characterization only run on MSIM or Turbo-MSIM?
Answer:
No, CharFlo-Cell! currently interfaces not only to MSIM or Turbo-MSIM, but also with other commercial simulators like Hspice, HSIM, and other in-house simulator tools.

Question 7: What are the supported platforms?
Answer:
